DC FASHION EVENT: LATIN FASHION WEEK BEGINS SEPT. 28TH


LATIN FASHION WEEK ANNOUNCES SPECIAL PROGRAM IN HONOR OF THE LATIN AMERICAN HERITAGE MONTH 2011

This three day Fashion Extravaganza will showcase the hottest and the best designers from around the world.

First day of the event September 28, 2011 Kill the Runway Competition will feature future aspiring models from around the world of all races. The fashion event Theme describes the meaning behind the name “Latin”, which is the root of the languages from the Ancient Roman to new countries of different continents. The root language of “Latin” has left a legacy behind many cultures and idioms in the world.

Modeling fashion competition “Kill the Runway” focuses on helping to find the next supermodel, providing opportunity for aspiring models to crossover into the national and international fashion industry and participate in our 2011 Latin Fashion Week. This competition includes, kids, female and male models.

Second day September 29, 2011 starting with a cocktail reception will feature talented fashion designers, showcasing their 2011 & 2012 enchanting accessory collections as Nena Gosling, from Venezuela and Ilka Harrigan New rising Accessory designer from USA. Fashion gets even more interesting with the 2011 Latin show presenting Maurizio Alberino, from the Dominican Republic couture men designer, with Italian lines. Closing our Latin Fashion Week night with Victor Sabido, Italian-Mexican creator and designer of the brand “Sabido & Basteris” Jewelry and apparel line; now being the new authority in the world of fashion.

Third day September 30, 2011 Starting with Cocktail reception, featuring Stella Bonds, a Colombian designer graduate of design programs in both the US and Europe. Latin Fashion Week is putting together a diverse show with the presence of Carlos Benguigui Venezuelan designer presenting his 2011 Women collection, which is described in three words; perspective-dimension-structure, in primary colors, orange, silver, black and off – white. Closing the night Samuel Cirnansck Brazilian designer, self-taught in sewing and Unique in Style. He is one of the most important designers of the new generation.

Fourth day October 1, 2011 is Latin Gala Day. Media and designers will have the opportunity to collaborate together. Starting with media interviews, following with the presentation of Andres Aquino, born in Dominican Republic. He is the founder and producer of Couture Fashion Week, the most glamorous fashion event in New York and other selected markets. Latin Fashion Week event is honoring to present the most internationally well know Spain designer Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, recognized for her innovative Designs and for her support towards fashion.
